The Sheep Mountain is run in 3 heats of 50 miles in mountainous terrain. Each heat is separated by a 5 hr mandatory layover. Both layovers are at Eureka Lodge. The race course can be somewhat physically challenging with the run over Belanger Pass, which is done twice.
