Although same distance as the Knik 200, the Tustumena offers more of a learning experience. The terrain is quite hilly, some open country, lakes and rivers. 5 Checkpoints ( 2 on the way out, on in the middle, same 2 on the way back ). Usually a lot of fast teams are in this race. Qualifier for the Quest and Iditarod.
