Circle City - Eagle

From Circle City to Eagles there are 256 kilometers, which can be calmly driven. It is the first long distance between two supply points, mushers should take care of there food supply and equipment in there sled. Also the field becomes far outer here - the distances become larger. The Trail crosses the Yukon River after Circle, which is almost flat and covered with snow - wind can however make the trace invisible. At kilometer 48 the participants past by the Dills Cabin. The Trail follows the largest part of the Yukon River; the river conditions vary from year to year, dependently on the ice which formed - from flat over extremely crunchy to "Jumbled Ice". On the Yukon River the coldest temperatures are often measured, since it is ever colder on a river than on the country (in the year 2003 even -55°C!). Afterwards the mushers comes to the area of the Yukon Charly River National Preserve. At kilometer 96 there are the Slavins Cabin, there dogs which were taken from running, can medically be supplied. 29 kilometers later they the participants pass Biedermann, what however 2002 was closed. The Trail becomes after Biedermann and after Kandik River was passed very windy - in the area of Nation Reef ici, usually without snow. At Trout Creek there is a wood hut hidden in the forest, which can be used by the Mushern. Now there are still 64 kilometers to Eagles. After 40 kilometers the way leads by forests and over lakes. Right from Eagles Bluff it goes then to Eagles. The checkpoint is in old school building.
