The second largest city of Alaska [with 32.000 city and 45,000 North star inhabitants] is north to the Alaska chain at the Chena River. The typically American city is an important traffic junction, supplying place [in particular for central Alaska and the arctic] and a military base. From here the enormous oil fields of the Prudhoe Bay became opened. In Fairbanks, that was named after the former vice-president Charles W. Fairbanks and, where the temperatures can amount in winter under -50°C and in summer +30°C, is also the well-known University of Alaska.
