Checkpoint Dawson City

The famous city with 2000 inhabitants is a large point of tourist attraction with the historical houses from the gold grave time. When 1896 gold were found at the Bonanza Creek, also the history of the city, named after the geologist Dr. George Mercer Dawson, began. The call of the gold attracted as many humans that after two years in the year 1898, Dawson City was with 25000 inhabitants the largest (Canadian) city west of Winnipeg and north of San Francisco. As fast as the ascent came, then it went also rapidly downward again; when nearly all Goldclaims was bought up from large enterprises, the number of inhabitants of the city sank dramatically. Also today Dawson still attracts Goldminers, although in 'tourist form' and many rather tries their luck in the Casinos, like the Diamond Tooth Gertie's. But the city earns very well and finances thereby the restoration of the city.
