In 1997 he resettles into the Yukon Territory, just a year after a canoe-tour of several weeks on the Mackenzie River from Tuktoyaktuk to the Bering Sea.He makes friends with a strayed to sled dog and gives him the name "Blue":
she becomes the first member of a dog breeding that in the meantime consists of over 100 dogs. Blue Kennels is named after this first dog and Sebastian, or Sab, starts dog sport and participates in different races. In 1999 he fails as Rookie at his first attempt in the 1.000-Miles-Yukon-Quest and improves his skill from year to year. In 2005 he places the 9th, in 2006 the 6th and in 2007 the 7th. During these 3 years he also participates in the 1.000-Miles-Iditarod: Sab wins the 38th in 2005, in 2006 the 35th and in 2007 the 22th place. He regularly participates in other races: Copper Basin, Knik and Sheep Mountain. Every year, also other Mushers train with dogs from his Kennel in order to start in races, e.g. Roland Waldispühl, who finished 2nd in the Yukon Quest 300 in 2006.
