On the way to Alaska
The last month was stress and tension - prepare everything for my deputies and just finish "quickly" three projects. And at home I had also to finish some things like prepare the video-/helmetcamera, set up a notebook with the required programms for the Yukon, etc..So there wasn't a lot of time to prepare myself mentally for the holidays.
As I arrived in Whitehorse I didn't believe my eyes – there is no snow in Whitehorse everything is green or better brown.
In the week before my arrival they had always above 0°C and a warm wind from the sout did the rest to let go all the snow.
Sebastian wanted to drive with me to Alaska as fast as possible but because of the missing snow he had to close down Blue Kennels. And so he had to do hunderts of telephone to make sure that the tourists which had booked at Blue Kennels could make there mushing holidays somewhere else.As the racingteams need there training we did some small trainingruns on gravel and ice from about 30-50 km with the 4wheelers. As this is not so good for the paws we had o control them every day and sometimes we had to leave a dog in the yard.
Until yet we don't have snow in Blue Kennels but the temperaturses are beetween -20 and -30°C and so trees and gras are thick couvert by ice/snow.
Today we are leaving for Alaska, we are going to the Paxson Lake near our races, where we stay at least until the Sheep Mountain at the 17 december.
