Eagle River - Wasilla

At Eagle River, mushers load their dogs in their dog trucks and take them to Wasilla the next day for the restart. Due to the growth of the area between Eagle River and Wasilla and the traditionally open water of the Matanuska River, it is impossible to travel this stretch by dog team.
