Beast

also came to me via Rick Casillo. His age is about 5 and he has finished Iditarod with Rick. He had a few other homes before and something most have gone wrong along the way. Beast growls at anybody, he puts on a hell of a show. You think he is going to rip your hand of , if you try to touch him. Obviously he can not go to the glacier in the summer. When it came time to pick him up this summer at another musher where he was boarded , I was tempted to leave him where he was, but decided I give him a try.
Very good thing I did. He was 10 lb overweight so I could not run him right away and started to work with him in the free pen. It did not take him all that long and he stopped growling. He now is very confident loose and only resorts to his " growling trick " if too many new people approach him. A beautiful smooth gaited dog in harness. With Garbonzo he found a nice running mate, but also a friend, both a bit shy, but love hanging out together. They come inside a lot, to get more used to me, and luckily decided to sleep infront of the bed instead of crowding in it with everybody else.
